Used as a storage and decoration block, along with Bronze Block, Tin Block, Charcoal Block, Copper Block, Steel Block, Refined Glowstone Block. It alone doesn't have much use, other than being used as a display block unless needed.

It also blast resistant but would be too expensive for an anti-creeper base.
