Gas-Burning Generator
The Gas-Burning Generator is a block that generates power by consuming burnable gas, such as Hydrogen extracted from water with an Electrolytic Separator or Ethene refined from Hydrogen and Bio Fuel. Gas-Burning Generators can store up to 18,000mB of fuel in their internal storage tanks, which can be augmented by connecting them to Chemical Tanks.
These generators boast high power output when compared to other single-block power generators, with each unit capable of producing up to 180 kJ/t (72 kFE/t). It's recommended to use Gas-Burning Generators in tandem with an energy storage system, such as a bank of Energy Cubes or an Induction Matrix.

Energy Production Mechanics
As of Mekanism v10, Gas-Burning Generators' power output and fuel consumption is dependent on the amount of fuel and energy stored within the generator's internal reserves. The maximum power output scales linearly with the amount of fuel stored.
Max burn rate = CEIL(256 * FUEL_STORED / FUEL_CAPACITY) / FUEL_BURN_TIME
Hydrogen has an energy density of 200 J/mB (80 FE/mB) and a base burn time of 1 tick, yielding a maximum potential power output of 51,200 J/t (20,480 FE/t) while consuming 256mB/t.
Ethene has an energy density of 28,200 J/mB (11,280 FE/mB) and a base burn time of 40 ticks, yielding a maximum potential power output of 180,480 J/t (72,192 FE/t) while consuming 6.4mB/t.
Note that the energy cost for extracting Hydrogen from water using an Electrolytic Separator is identical to its energy density; it costs just as much energy to produce Hydrogen as is gained from burning it, making Hydrogen alone unsuitable for energy production. Refining Hydrogen into Ethene, or using compatible fuels from other mods, is essential to making the most of Gas-Burning Generators.
Pre-v10 Mechanics
In older versions of Mekanism, the Gas-Burning Generator has a fixed maximum power output of 20,000 J/t (8,000 RF/t) regardless of the fuel used. At maximum output, the generator will burn Hydrogen at a rate of 100mB/t, and Ethylene at 0.7mB/t.
